Stroke Screening Package to assess and manage your risks of developing strokes or cerebrovascular diseases

Package Inclusion

✓ Physical review by doctor before screening

✓ Risk Profile Assessment

✓ Blood Tests (* fasting is requested for these tests)

• Liver Function Profile

• Lipid Profile

• Full Blood Count

• Renal Function Profile

✓ Imaging Tests

• Carotid Doppler Ultrasound

• Ankle Brachial Index (ABI)

✓ Doctor’s Review after report

Package Exclusion

✓ Electrocardiograms (ECGs), treadmill tests, and additional diagnostic imaging services (e.g. CT, MRI, ultrasound, echocardiography (TEE), PET, nuclear medicine, X-rays, etc) as deemed necessary by attending physician

✓ Additional clinical laboratory tests, blood transfusion products and services, genetic studies, fine needle aspiration (FNA), and referred laboratory services as deemed necessary by attending physician

✓ Physician and nursing fees unrelated to the package procedure

Note:

• Ankle-brachial index – Ankle-brachial index (ABI) compares blood pressure of your ankle to blood pressure in the arm.  It is used to screen for and determine the severity of arterial disease in a patient’s limbs

• Carotid Doppler Ultrasound – A Carotid Doppler Ultrasound Scan is primarily for assessing the blood flow in the arteries of the neck. Narrowing of these neck arteries are associated with an increased risk of developing strokes.

Optional Additional Investigation (To be advised by attending physician)

CT Angiogram (Carotid & Circle of Willis) – $1500.00

Note:

• Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Stroke Screen –  An MRI Stroke Screen uses magnetic fields to produce a 3-dimensional image of your brain tissues and blood vessels. The MR scan shows the brain and spinal cord in more detail than CT. It can be used to diagnose new and old undetected strokes as well as problems related to the blood vessels in the brain (stenosis, aneurysms etc) and brain tissue (tumours etc)

CT Angiogram – A CT angiogram can show narrowed or blocked areas of a blood vessel. The test can also show whether there is a bulge (aneurysm) or buildup of fatty material called plaque in a blood vessel

PERIPHERAL VASCULAR DISEASE SCREENING PACKAGES

Package Description

Peripheral vascular disease screening helps in detecting early narrowing or blockage of the leg arteries before further deterioration of the condition. Peripheral vascular disease screening involves painless and non-invasive tests.

Package Inclusion

✓ Physical review by doctor before screening

✓ Risk Profile Assessment

✓ Blood Tests (* fasting is requested for these tests)

• Liver Function Profile

• Lipid Profile

• Full Blood Count

• Renal Function Profile

✓ Imaging Tests

• Ankle Brachial Index (ABI)

• Carotid Doppler Ultrasound

• Abdominal Aorta Ultrasound

• Duplex Ultrasound Scan Lower Limb Arteries

✓ Doctor’s Review after report

Package Exclusion

✓ Electrocardiograms (ECGs), treadmill tests, and additional diagnostic imaging services (e.g. CT, MRI, ultrasound, echocardiography (TEE), PET, nuclear medicine, X-rays, etc) as deemed necessary by attending physician

✓ Additional clinical laboratory tests, blood transfusion products and services, genetic studies, fine needle aspiration (FNA), and referred laboratory services as deemed necessary by attending physician

✓ Physician and nursing  fees unrelated to the package procedure

✓ Cost associated with complications

Note:

Ankle-brachial index – Ankle-brachial index (ABI) compares blood pressure of your ankle to blood pressure in the arm.  It is used to screen for and determine the severity of arterial disease in a patient’s limbs

Duplex Ultrasound – This is an ultrasound scan to determine the pattern of blood flow in the leg arteries.  It can also determine the presence of narrowing or blackages in the arteries

Abdominal Aorta Ultrasound – Ultrasound imaging of abdomen uses sound waves to produce pictures of the structures within the upper abdomen. It is used to help diagnose pain or distention and evaluate the kidneys, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen and abdominal aorta.

Note:

Peripheral Angiogram – A peripheral angiogram uses CT scan and contrast to determine the presence of narrowed or blocked areas in one or more of the arteries that supply blood to your legs.  It allows the doctor to visualize the complete blood flow pattern in the lower limb arteries.

CT Angiogram A CT angiogram can show narrowed or blocked areas of a blood vessel. The test can also show whether there is a bulge (aneurysm) or buildup of fatty material called plaque in a blood vessel.

CT Angiogram Aorta / Aortagram An Aortagram is an invasive diagnostic test using a catheter to inject dye (contrast medium) into the aorta. X-rays are taken of the dye as it travels within the aorta, allowing clear visualization of blood flow
